This is the funniest White Sox post I’ve read in a while. The conversation cracked me up as did this:
I’m trying to think of a dumber injury that could occur within the realm of dugout hijinx and I’m failing miserably. I mean, other things could capture the “senseless injury” part — broken hip doing the bump, torn wrist ligament during an elaborate handshake, choking on a sunflower seed — but the whole pie aspect brings a vaudeville factor that nothing else can really touch.
That is, unless Ozzie pulls pitchers with a gigantic novelty hook instead of making visits to the mound. Of course, now I’ve added onto my list of things I desperately want to see but never will, and this whole saga just bolsters my theory that clowns only lead to dark places.

I’ve decided to add something to “A Walk Around the Bases.” And, no, before you even go there, consistency isn’t what I’m adding. I know I don’t post these everyday, though I do do it (I’ll pause as you laugh at the fact I typed do-do) … a fair amount of the time. I’ve decided that now since the Sox have drafted a couple players I’m actually excited about (Jordan Danks and Gordon Beckham), I’ll write little blurbs about how they have performed since the last A Walk Around the Bases. Sounds good? Cool.
Beckham has played in 3 games for the Intimidators (Kannapolis - A league) and has really hit the ground running. In his first game, he went 3-4 with a double and a walk which is pretty impressive after his long layoff between the end of the college season and now. His second game wasn’t as impressive, as he went 1-4 (though he did walk twice). Game 3 yielded Becks his first career homer and a 3-3 day with a walk. His slash stats are looking quite sexy at .636/.733/1.000/1.733. I’m really quite happy about the number of walks he’s taken already.
Danks hasn’t played yet, but I think today may be his first game.
