Onto the announcements:
First off, we have a new writer, he goes by the handle JB. He is a high school friend of mine, and unfortunately is a Cubs’ fan, but he still has a fair respect for the Sox. I’m sure he’ll have an introductory post of some sort in the coming day. Anyway, you may be wondering why he’s going to be writing here if he’s a Cubs’ fan, well, we’ve got him here to supply some more general opinions about sports. Whereas I focus myself solely on the Sox (I could easily opine about anything, but choose not to), I thought it would be nice to get some thoughts flowing on other things as well. Trust me, this isn’t just nepotism (especially since he isn’t related to me); he knows his stuff, he hosted a radio show at USC and interviewed the likes of Pete Carroll, among others.
Also, as I had hinted earlier, my birthday is coming up on Saturday. It is actually my 21st so I have some big plans for it. I’ll be leaving for Madison Friday afternoon and I’ll be back Monday afternoon or Tuesday afternoon depending on whether I have the strength to drive to Bloomington on Monday. Since I will be away (and potentially celebrating 21st birthdays on three straight days) there’s a strong liklihood I’ll be silenced over the coming days. I will for sure wrap up this series on Friday before I leave so make sure to check back for that, but I don’t know whether I’ll be able to get to the computer until I’m back home, so please excuse my absence. Hopefully JB or someone can keep y’all filled with a steady stream of writing.
